Nobel Prize Events and Exhibition in Brazil

Several Nobel Prize themed events took place in Rio de Janeiro on 12-13 March 2014. A new exhibition "The Nobel Prize - Ideas Changing the World", the Nobel Prize Dialogue seminar, with a panel including Eric Maskin, 2007 Laureate in Economic Sciences, and the lecture event Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative.

The Nobel Prize: Ideas Changing the World

This exhibition highlights the life and work of Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize, the Nobel Laureates, and how Nobel Prize-awarded efforts have shaped, changed and continue to change our world. The Nobel Prize: Ideas Changing the World uses unique objects and documents, original artistic interpretations, and advanced exhibition techniques. The exhibition opened on 13 March at GetĂșlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) of Rio de Janeiro.

The Nobel Prize Dialogue seminar, with a panel including Eric Maskin, 2007 Laureate in Economic Sciences, offered a unique interaction with participants from academia, the business sector and the general public. Eric Maskin also delivered his lecture "Why Hasn't Globalization Reduced Income Disparity?"

The Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative presented Eric Maskin, 2007 Laureate in Economic Sciences, who lectured on "How to Make the Right Decisions without Knowing People's Preferences: An Introduction to Mechanism Design" at GetĂșlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) of Rio de Janeiro on 13 March.
