Dr Martin Chalfie, awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, visited Brazil from 24 to 26 September 2014, as part of the Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative. There he met with young researchers and senior academics at Fiocruz and Universidade de Brasilia.
This was Dr Chalfie's first NPII event.
In a truly unique event, Nobel Laureates Joseph L. Goldstein and Michael S. Brown, jointly awarded the 1985 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, will visit Cambridge in October 2014 for the Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative. Brown and Goldstein have worked together for over 40 years, in one of the most famous and enduring collaborations in science. The pair jointly run the Brown/Goldstein Laboratory at the University of Texas Southwestern.
In December 2014, Paul Nurse, awarded the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, will take part in a Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative event in China. He will travel to Beijing and Tianjin on this trip, meeting with researchers from across the region.
