The 2004 Nobel Banquet(15 minutes)

Watch a video summary of the Nobel Banquet on 10 December 2004, with commentary by an English-speaking presenter. The banquet starts inside the Stockholm City Hall in Sweden, where the distinguished guests make their entrance into the Blue Hall in a procession to trumpet music. The entertainment during the evening pays homage to the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1:36). Dessert is served after a traditional 'ice-cream parade' (5:32). Banquet speeches are delivered by the 2004 Laureates: Richard Axel, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine (8:30), Avram Hershko, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (10:05), David J. Gross, Nobel Laureate in Physics (10:40), and Economics Laureate Edward C. Prescott (12:25). The guests from the table of honour then leave the Blue Hall in procession (13:10).
