Harold Pinter's Attendance during Nobel Week in Stockholm Cancelled
November 30, 2005
The Nobel Foundation hereby announces that Harold Pinter, the 2005 Nobel Laureate in Literature, will unfortunately not attend any of the events during the Nobel Week for reasons of health. His doctors have forbidden him to travel at this time.
Harold Pinter's pre-recorded Nobel Lecture is therefore planned to be presented on a big screen at the Swedish Academy on 7 December at 5:30 p.m.
As announced previously, publisher Stephen Page, Chief Executive of Faber and Faber in London, will be attending the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in Mr. Pinter's place. Mr. Page will accept the Nobel medal and Nobel diploma on behalf of the Literature Laureate.
