Since their inception, Nobelprize.org and Nobel Media have had exclusive access to all the events surrounding the prestigious annual Nobel Prizes. Now, visitors to Nobelprize.org will be able to freely and conveniently view this unique archive of content with the new Nobelprize.org Media Player.
More than one hundred hours-worth of video and audio content from the archives of Nobelprize.org and Nobel Media are featured in the Media Player. The Nobelprize.org Media Player showcases unique video interviews, lectures and speeches from Laureates, including amongst many others Desmond Tutu, Al Gore, John Nash and Doris Lessing. Visitors will also be able to relive the moments that the Prizes are announced and awarded, and also witness the extraordinary Nobel Banquet.
"To meet the increasing interest in our video and audio footage, the Media Player provides visitors to Nobelprize.org with an easy entry point to the wealth of material we provide. Not only will visitors be able to see related videos, they can also view our editors' recommendations and visitors' top-rated videos," said Alf A. Lindberg, CEO of Nobel Web, the organisation that is responsible for Nobelprize.org.
"The web gives visitors a possibility to watch TV programmes when it suits them, which is a great advantage compared to distribution on satellite or terrestrial TV networks. With the new Media Player we highlight Nobel-related TV programming on the site and increase visibility and accessibility to the programs over a longer period of time," said Camilla Hyltén-Cavallius, CEO of Nobel Media.
The Media Player is presented with the support of EDS, Nobel Web's Global Technology Services Partner.
