
On 15-18th October 2012, Oliver Smithies, awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, lectured at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University and AstraZeneca’s Innovation Center China, Shanghai.
Dr Smithies aimed to inspire the next generation of scientists by reflecting on his 60-year career in research and describing the trials and tribulations he faced during his scientific career in a talk entitled Turning Pages: From Gels to Genes.
