Motivation: Cornejo worked for a peaceful solution to the conflicts between Bolivia and Paraguay, and between Peru and Colombia. He had written "La lutte pour la paix" (1933) and "L'équilibre des continents" (1932). Cornejo contributed greatly to international peace work, but mostly he advocated peace in Latin America.
