Anderson, Gidske 1921 - 1992
Writer and Journalist Labour

Gidske Anderson worked in Paris as correspondent for NRK (the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) and Arbeiderbladet (the organ of the Labour Party) 1954-1964. In 1964-1967 she was a free-lance journalist and writer in the USA.

From 1967 until 1972 Anderson was editor of the foreign affairs section of Arbeiderbladet. She reverted as correspondent for NRK in Paris once more in 1973-1975. Anderson has published several works both in fiction and non-fiction and has won several prizes. She was a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in 1981-1993, its chairman in 1990 after the death of Egil Aarvik.
