General Information
Dress Code for the Festivities on December 10
Dress code for the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony: dark suit for gentlemen, and short or long dress for ladies. At the Nobel Banquet, gentlemen are required to wear white tie and tails, and ladies long evening gown. Thus, if attending both ceremonies, white tie and tails for gentlemen and evening gown for ladies apply.
Dress code for photographers is dark suit/long dress or dark two
piece suit at both events.
For dress hire, consult the yellow pages in the Stockholm telephone
directory ("Kläder uthyrning") or contact the
MFA Press Centre. To give an example of prices, it may be mentioned
that the cost of
hiring white tie and tails, including shirt and waistcoat, is SEK
1,300 at a
well-reputed dress rental firm in Stockholm. If possible,
bring your own cuff-links, bow-tie and shirt studs. Otherwise,
these items
can be also purchased.
At a corresponding dress hire firm for ladies, the cost of hiring a long evening gown varies between SEK 1,500-2,500. The price includes handbag, jewellery, long gloves and a shawl or a jacket.
