List of activities carried out during Nobel Week 2024 that may be of particular interest to media visiting Stockholm to cover this year’s Nobel Prize in literature. More activities might be added. Please look back. 

5 december

08:45 The yearly press conference organised by the Nobel Foundation

The programme for Nobel Week 2024 is presented to the media. The Nobel Foundation reveals the chef and pastry chef of this year’s Nobel Prize banquet. Both the chef and the pastry chef will be present.
Exhibition of creations by students from the Beckmans School of Design, who will interpret this year’s Nobel Prize in dresses, including the literature prize. 

6 December

Artefacts from the Nobel Prize laureates  

Location: Nobel Prize Museum, Stortorget 2, Old Town, Stockholm

In the morning, the Nobel Prize laureates gather at the Nobel Prize Museum. As a tradition they hand over an artefact to the museum and sign a chair. The new artefacts will be on display in the museum for media. Curators from the museum will tell the stories of the objects. (The laureates will not participate). Photo and video opportunities for media.

7 December

17:00 
Nobel Prize lecture in literature 

Location: The Swedish Academy, Börssalen, Källargränd 4, Stockholm
Han Kang will give her Nobel Prize lecture at the Swedish Academy. There is no special media invitation/accreditation, those interested in attending the lecture can be invited as guests. There will be no interviews and no possibility to take photos or make audio recordings during the lecture.

10 December

Nobel Prize award ceremony 

Location: Konserthuset Stockholm/Stockholm Concert Hall.

During the prize award ceremony, the Nobel Prize laureates receive a diploma and medal from HM The King. Speeches are given by representatives from the prize awarding institutions. The speeches can be obtained against embargo via [email protected]

Nobel Prize banquet

Location: Stockholm City Hall

Throughout Nobel Week

Nobel Week Lights 

Nobel Week Lights is an artistic tribute to the Nobel Prize laureates and their achievements. The light installations will be shown outdoors in Stockholm 7 December–15 December, 16:00–22:00.

Sneak peek: Nobel Week Lights 

Location: Meeting point TBD.

Sneak peek of the artworks and meet some of the artists of this year’s Nobel Week Lights. The last preparations are made, and the artworks are tested. Warm clothes and good shoes are recommended. Photo and video opportunities for media.  
There will be two press tours: one on 6 December 16:30–17:30 (a sneak peek the night before it opens) and one on 9 December at 18:00–19:00. 

Exhibition: ‘These things changed the world’ 

For the first time, the Nobel Prize Museum is displaying a large selection of items from its collection of artefacts from Nobel Prize laureates. These objects tell stories of remarkable discoveries and life achievements. More than 250 artefacts bear witness to revolutionary inventions, courageous peace efforts, groundbreaking ideas and innovative literature.
