American author, editor and professor Toni Morrison's writing provide penetrating depictions of the world of the black people in America. Many of her novels deal with black women defining their roles and striving to survive in a male dominated society. Toni Morrison made her debut as a novelist in 1970 with 'The Bluest Eye' and soon gained the world's attention for her unique narrative technique and her sympathy and humanity, always based on profound humour.
