José Manuel Sánchez Ron is a distinguished physicist and historian of science.

José Manuel Sánchez Ron is a distinguished physicist and historian of science. He is a member of the Royal Spanish Academy, the Royal Academy of Exact Sciences and the International Academy of the History of Science in París.

José Manuel Sánchez Ron holds a bachelor’s degree in physical sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and a PhD in physics from the University of London. Between 1994 and 2019, he was professor of the History of Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he had previously been a senior lecturer in theoretical physics.

He is a full member of the Royal Spanish Academy, a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, and a full member of the Académie Internationale d’Histoire des Sciences in Paris. He is the author of an extensive bibliography collected in more than 500 works, mostly in the field of the history of science, but also in theoretical physics and the philosophy of science. Director of the Drakontos collection of essay and scientific dissemination from the editorial Crítica.
