Comments: The nomination was made jointly by K.A. Melin and E.A. Karlfeldt (see entry 24-2, 1916), both of the Swedish Academy. The Prize for 1919 was awarded to C. Spitteler in 1920. The Nobel Committee decided to carry over a number of nominated candidates from the previous year, with members of the Nobel Committee acting as nominator (see entries 1916-24 through 1916-29).
