Motivation: | Archbishop Söderblom advocated peace, pacifism, brotherhood and religious understanding through his work as leader of the ecumenical movement. He wanted to unite religious communities of different nationalities, in order to further international understanding through church unity. Söderblom organized and presided over the first Universal Christian Conference on Life and Work in Stockholm in 1925. |
