Alison Noble

Alison Noble is an inter-disciplinary researcher distinguished for her contributions to biomedical image analysis.

Alison Noble is the Technikos Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford. She is an inter-disciplinary researcher distinguished for her contributions to biomedical image analysis.

Her research interests lie in integrating knowledge of imaging and computational analysis in innovative ways to support clinical decision-making. Her recent research has focused on machine-learning based approaches to key problems in medical ultrasound developed in close collaboration with clinical researchers to demonstrate potential clinical and societal impact.

She also has longstanding strong interest in the commercialisation of academic research. Alison is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, was awarded a CBE for services to science and engineering in 2023 and currently serves as a vice president and foreign secretary of the Royal Society.
