The Nobel Prize Award Ceremony 1961
During the glittering and elegant ceremony in the Stockholm Concert Hall, 10 December 1961, the Nobel Laureates of the year received their Nobel Prize from King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden. Professors Hofstadter and Mössbauer were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, Melvin Calvin the Chemistry Prize, Georg von Békésy the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and Ivo Andric the Literature Prize.
