In April 2021, three Nobel Prize Laureates spoke with students in Austin as part of a digital Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative event held in partnership with 3M.
Elizabeth Blackburn, 2009 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, Andrew Fire, 2006 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, and Robert Grubbs, 2005 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, participated in two days of discussions with students at the University of Texas at Austin and high school students from the Austin Independent School District. They were also joined by Steven Weinberg, 1979 Nobel Laureate in Physics, for a discussion about the value of science.
